Getting started

What Kinovo is and who it is for

Kinovo is a private, participant-controlled workspace that helps a care team keep current information, responsibilities and next steps together.

Who this article is for

Care subjects, families, trusted supporters and invited professionals

Where to find it

  • Personal accounts open one care team from the care-team switcher.
  • Professional accounts use My clients and the Action Centre across the client workspaces they have joined.

What Kinovo does

Care coordination often becomes scattered across email, text messages, phone calls, documents and different organisations. Kinovo gives the people supporting one person a shared place to see the current picture without replacing the systems each professional already uses.

A Kinovo care team can keep goals, assigned tasks, Care Protocols, documents, notes and reminders, client-scoped messages, meetings and relevant updates connected to the same care subject. The dashboard and Action Centre then bring forward the work that needs attention.

  • See what matters now and who owns the next step.
  • Ask a specific person for an action, document or response.
  • Keep practical support instructions and current documents available to the people permitted to see them.
  • Review responses, request changes and keep waiting work visible.
  • Give professionals a short, action-focused way to contribute without recreating their clinical or practice records.

Who Kinovo is for

Kinovo is designed for a person who receives support and the trusted people involved in coordinating that support. A workspace can be created for yourself or for somebody else.

  • Care subjects who want a clearer view of their own care team.
  • Family members and trusted supporters who need to reduce chasing and repeated explanations.
  • Team leaders who coordinate access, shared context and follow-up.
  • Support coordinators, therapists, plan managers, support workers and other invited professionals who need relevant client context and clear actions.

What participant-controlled means

The care team is organised around the care subject—not around one provider organisation. The Team leader controls membership and access for that workspace. Invited people contribute the information and actions they are responsible for, within the permissions and item visibility they have been given.

Participant-controlled does not mean one family member must enter or maintain everything. The goal is for the right person to provide the right contribution while access remains deliberate.

Kinovo adapts to each person’s role

  • Team leaders receive setup, access-management and whole-team coordination tools.
  • Care subjects and family members receive a care-team view shaped by their responsibilities and permissions.
  • Professionals receive My clients, a cross-client Action Centre and a focused workspace for each client.
  • People with viewer-style access can follow team progress without being presented with controls they do not need.

Account type and care-team role are different

A professional can be the Team leader in one care team while keeping their professional account and cross-client workspace. Roles and permissions apply separately inside each care team.

What Kinovo does not replace

Kinovo is a coordination layer. It does not replace clinical records, professional judgement, provider systems, plan management, accounting, rostering or formal safeguarding processes.

Not for emergencies

Kinovo is not an emergency service or continuously monitored communication channel. If somebody is unsafe or urgent help is needed, use emergency services or the agreed provider and safeguarding process outside Kinovo.

A useful first care-team cycle

  1. 1

Create or join the care team

Record only the minimum context needed to begin and make sure the right Team leader controls access.

  2. 2

    Invite one relevant person

Bring in somebody who can contribute to a real current priority.

  3. 3

    Assign one clear action

Explain what needs to happen, who should respond and when it is needed.

  4. 4

    Respond and review

The assigned person submits their response and the requester reviews it, requests changes if needed, or completes the task.

Still need help?

Tell Kinovo support what you were trying to do, which page you were on and what happened. Do not include sensitive care information unless support specifically asks for it through an approved channel.
