Understanding the next useful step

The next useful step is Kinovo’s role-aware recommendation for the single action most likely to need your attention or move coordination forward.

Where to find it

  • At the top of the personal or professional dashboard.
  • Inside a client workspace when Kinovo has a relevant client-specific recommendation.
  • From Help and getting started, choose Check my next useful step.

Why Kinovo shows one step

A care team can contain many goals, tasks, documents and updates. The next useful step reduces that noise by selecting one relevant action for the signed-in person. It is a recommendation, not a complete list of the workspace.

Use the Dashboard for orientation and the Action Centre or care-team pages when you need the full view.

What Kinovo prioritises

The exact recommendation depends on your role, permissions, workspace state and current work. Kinovo generally gives immediate personal work priority over setup suggestions.

  • An assigned task that is due or overdue.
  • A submitted response that you are authorised to review.
  • A waiting task that now needs a practical follow-up.
  • An assigned action that needs your response.
  • An essential setup step, such as completing a professional profile or reviewing care-team context.
  • For Team leaders, the next step in establishing a real coordination cycle: current context, a priority, an invited person, an assigned action, response and review.
  • A useful optional improvement when no more urgent work needs attention.

Why waiting work may not be your action

If you have sent a task and are simply waiting for another person, Kinovo does not normally treat that as work you must perform now. It will surface the response when it is ready for review or bring the task back when a follow-up is actually due.

This is why the permanent version may say You’re all caught up even though another person still has open work.

When you are all caught up

You’re all caught up means Kinovo cannot find an assigned response, authorised review or due follow-up that currently needs you. It does not mean the whole care team has finished every goal or task.

If you can create work in the selected care team, Kinovo may offer Create a task. A professional with several client workspaces may instead be directed to the Action Centre.

Setup guidance and ongoing guidance

Early in a workspace, the recommendation helps the care team complete a first useful coordination cycle. Once that cycle is complete and acknowledged, the card becomes an ongoing operational guide rather than a permanent setup checklist.

You can reopen setup and coordination progress from Help and getting started when you want to review it.

What the recommendation does not do

  • It does not change a task, send a message or grant access by itself.
  • It does not replace the full Action Centre, task list, notifications or professional judgement.
  • It only recommends actions the current account can reach in the relevant workspace.
  • It is not clinical monitoring and must not be relied on for urgent or emergency follow-up.
