Notifications and email preferences
Choose how Kinovo tells you about work that needs attention and routine updates. You can also mute one care team or conversation without losing access to it.
Who this article is for
Anyone who wants useful Kinovo alerts without unnecessary noise
Where to find it
- Open Settings → Notifications for optional email, in-app and device notification controls.
- Use Settings → Care workspaces to mute a client’s non-essential updates, or a conversation’s actions to mute that thread.
Choose the optional updates you want
Save notification preferences after changing the choices. The settings apply to your account, not everyone in the care team.
- Grouped morning emails for routine updates combines eligible routine activity instead of emailing every change.
- Practical setup guidance controls optional emails that help you get started. Guidance stops when the relevant step is complete.
- Adaptive fallback email for direct work that is still unseen means an email may follow after a short wait if you have not viewed or acted on the work.
- In-app notifications for relevant workspace activity controls optional activity alerts inside Kinovo.
Why you may get an in-app alert without an email
Kinovo uses the type of work, your involvement and your preferences to decide how to alert you. Turning on email does not mean every update becomes an email.
Direct work can appear in Kinovo first. If you open or act on it, an optional follow-up email may no longer be needed. Mark all as read clears notification read state; it does not count as opening or completing the underlying work.
Kinovo normally avoids alerting you about your own action. Routine activity can also be grouped to reduce repeated interruptions.
Choose email timing and quiet hours
- Under Email for work involving me, choose Only when I haven’t seen it or Always send direct-work email. Check that the optional direct-work email control is enabled as well.
- Meeting email choices cover invitations and calendar changes, plus a reminder one hour before a meeting. You can also choose an extra device reminder ten minutes before.
- Open Quiet hours and working days to pause routine email and device alerts overnight and choose working days for review reminders. Check the timezone shown beside these settings.
- Timed personal reminders and imminent meeting reminders can still arrive at their chosen time. Quiet hours do not hide the underlying work in Kinovo.
Some account and access messages stay on
Account-access, confidentiality and security messages are not controlled by optional work-update settings. Certain access decisions also need to reach the person affected.
Muting a care team or conversation does not switch off these essential messages. Delivery can still fail or be delayed, so contact support if an expected account email does not arrive.
Mute one care team or conversation
- In Settings → Care workspaces, choose Mute non-essential notifications for this client and save that client’s preferences.
- For one conversation, use its mute option in Messages.
- Muting does not leave the care team, remove access or mark the work complete. You can still open the items directly.
- Return to the same control to unmute when you want those optional alerts again.
Use the bell to open the work behind an alert
Open the bell to see recent notifications, or View all notifications for the full page. Use the available filters to focus on unread items.
Open an alert to see the relevant task, message or other item. If access has changed or the item is no longer available, ask the Team leader to check it.
Marking an alert as read does not complete the task or send a response. Take any required action on the item itself.
Turn on notifications for this device
Device alerts cover selected important events and avoid putting care details on the Lock Screen. You can disable alerts for the current device from the same settings.
Open Your registered devices to remove an old or shared device. A registered device is one Kinovo can try to notify; registration does not guarantee delivery.
- 1
Open Device notifications
Go to Settings → Notifications on the device and browser where you want alerts.
- 2
Choose Turn on notifications
Then allow notifications in the browser prompt. On iPhone or iPad, first add Kinovo to the Home Screen from Safari and open it there.
- 3
Send a test notification
Once enabled, use Send a test notification. Confirm Yes, I received it only if it actually appeared on your device. The server accepting the test does not prove that your device displayed it.
- 4
Check the device settings if nothing arrives
Browser permissions, operating-system settings and Focus or Do Not Disturb modes can affect alerts. Repeat setup on other devices where you want them.
Do not rely on alerts for urgent help
Kinovo is not an emergency service. Device, email and in-app notifications are not guaranteed to arrive or be read; use direct contact for urgent matters.
