Writing notes and setting reminders
Keep a private note for something you want to remember, then add a reminder if you need to return to it. Use a shared task or message when someone else needs the information.
Who this article is for
Any signed-in care-team member who needs private working notes
Where to find it
- Open Notes inside a care-team workspace and choose Add note.
- Professionals can also choose Private note from the Create menu on Tasks after selecting a client.
Notes are private to their author
A Kinovo note is a personal working record. Only the author can view, edit, archive or delete it. It is not a shared team update and it does not notify other people.
Use a shared message, task, document or Care Protocol instead when the care team needs to see or act on the information.
Write a note you will recognise later
- 1
Add a useful title and date
For example, “Questions for the equipment call”. Choose the date relevant to the note.
- 2
Add the detail you need
Choose a note type and write the points you want to keep. Avoid copying more private care information than you need.
- 3
Link related work if helpful
You can link a task, goal, document or Care Protocol. The link does not share your note or change who can see the linked item.
- 4
Save the note
Check that it saved before closing. Add a reminder if you want Kinovo to bring it back to your attention.
Choose when to come back to it
Set a reminder date and time, and add a short message explaining what you need to do. The time uses your browser’s timezone, so check it if you are travelling.
When due, the reminder can appear on your dashboard, Tasks and notifications. Opening it takes you back to the private note. Only you can see the reminder.
A reminder does not notify another team member or guarantee that you will see it at the exact time. Use your usual reliable arrangements for time-critical matters.
Find and organise notes
- Search and filter your notes inside the selected client workspace.
- Edit a note or reminder when the follow-up changes.
- Archive a note to remove it from the active list while retaining it.
- Delete it when it should no longer be kept.
Decide whether the information should be shared
A private note will not keep the team informed
Use a task when another person must act, a message for a shared conversation, and a Care Protocol for ongoing support instructions. Notes are for your own follow-up.
